Hallelujah! Canadian Christmas Food Court Flash Mob goes viral
Chorus Niagara's Christmas Food Court Flash Mob of the Hallelujah Chorus from Handel's Messiah has gone viral.
When I watched it, I was one of more than three million to have already viewed it.
The flash mob was staged at the Seaway Mall in Welland, Ontario (part of Niagara, Ontario). The city is known for its large francophone population. An article in The Niagara Falls Review has details on how the video came to be.
The Messiah, a sacred oratorio, was composed by G.F. Handel in London (1741-1742) and first performed in Dublin, Ireland in 1742. Chorus Niagara is giving two performances of the Messiah in Ontario this holiday season:
Saturday, December 11, 7:30 PM
Mountainview Christian Reformed Church
Grimsby, Ontario
Sunday, December 12, 3 PM
Calvary Church
St. Catharines, Ontario
